In celebration of Women’s History Month and Women’s Military History Week in Oregon, the Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs and the Washington, Multnomah and Clackamas County Veteran Services offices are hosting a Women Veteran Luncheon.

Free for women veterans to attend, the event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, at the Crowne Plaza Portland-Lake Oswego, 14811 Kruse Oaks Drive.

The luncheon will uphold this year's national theme for Women’s History Month: highlighting women who advocate for equity, diversity and inclusion.

Featuring distinguished women veterans and community leaders from Oregon, the event acknowledges the contributions of women across various eras and branches of the United States Armed Forces.

Alongside Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs Director Najeia Council Daniels, Beaverton Mayor Lacey Beaty will speak at the event. Beaty, who served as a combat medic during the Iraq War, became the first woman to serve as mayor in Beaverton .

Hillsboro City Councilor Beach Pace will also speak at the luncheon. Pace served as an army captain, and the local leader recently placed her bid to step up as Hillsboro’s mayor .

Attendees must RSVP by March 15.
