J.M. Biggs: I am always praying for you

I simply want this country and the church to know that it is a time for prayer.

Life will never be the same again. Just as sure as you have good times in your life, you will have bad times also. It just seems like the bad times are on steroids. That is why for years now I have been committed to praying for you.

If you have lost friends or love ones, I am praying for you. If you found out you have COVID-19 or cancer, I am praying for you. If the devil is trying to destroy your marriage, I am praying for you. If you have lost hope, and life doesn’t feel worth living anymore, I am a praying for you.

Why? Because I have been commanded by my Lord Jesus Christ to do so. Some may wonder why I pray for a lot of people I don’t know. Jesus Christ lives inside of me and he knows everyone. Also, when you allow the lord to fill your heart with his love like I have, it becomes very easy.

I know a lot of you don’t believe it when I say that I love my enemies, but I do. Even though some of them despise me and are wishing harm to come to me, I still pray for them. I pray a prayer full of love.

Sometimes we are too soon to forget what Jesus did for us. He paid the ultimate price for our sins. Even now, he is in heaven, on the right side of the father, praying and interceding for us. Sometimes he sees how slowful, and unforgiving we are. Yet he still prays to the father: “Forgive them, for they know not what they do.”

I remember last week when I prepared supper, I made some homemade cornbread. I used some buttermilk that we had in the fridge for a while. I thought it would be OK. I noticed while eating supper, the cornbread had a funny taste to it. But because the food was so good, I kept on eating it.

Sure enough, as soon as I finished eating, I had severe pain in my belly. Now in the past when something has happened like that, the pain got worse and worse. In some cases it was so bad, it had me crawling on the floor. So as the pain was getting worse, I lifted my eyes toward heaven and prayed. I reminded the lord that when someone asked for prayer the other day, I prayed for them and he healed them. Then I prayed for my belly, and the pain was gone in about three minutes.

Glory be to God! I am just trying to get the church to see that if you dedicate your life to the lord, he will honor your prayers. A lot of the time he will answer immediately.

I want to pray for you right now. Father, I want to pray for this newspaper and everyone that makes this paper possible. I pray for their families and loved ones, that you would bless them and keep them from all the terrible things happening.

I pray for my family, the people who read this paper and everyone else in our state. Thank you so much for blessing us, protecting us, and showing us so much kindness in Jesus’ name, amen.
