In a case that has captured the attention of the nation, justice has finally been served as a jury found Rebecca Grossman guilty of the tragic hit-and-run deaths of Jacob Iskander, 8, and Mark Iskander, 11. The verdict, delivered on Friday afternoon at Van Nuys Superior Court, marks the culmination of a six-week trial that has gripped the community and brought to light the devastating consequences of reckless driving.

Rebecca Grossman, a prominent socialite and co-founder of the Grossman Burn Foundation, was convicted on multiple charges including second-degree murder, vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, and hit-and-run driving resulting in death. The unanimous decision by the jury came after nearly two days of deliberation, leaving both sides of the courtroom in tears upon hearing the outcome.

The incident, which occurred on September 29, 2020, shook the Westlake Village community to its core. Jacob and Mark Iskander, crossing the street with their family in a marked crosswalk, were struck by Grossman's vehicle, allegedly traveling at over 70 mph in a 45 mph zone. The harrowing scene witnessed the boys' mother narrowly saving her youngest children while tragically unable to reach Jacob and Mark in time.

Despite attempts by the defense to shift blame onto Grossman's then-boyfriend, Scott Erickson, a former L.A. Dodgers pitcher, the evidence presented during the trial overwhelmingly pointed to Grossman as the responsible party. Eyewitness testimonies, including that of Grossman's own daughter, Alexis Grossman, painted a damning picture of the events leading up to and following the crash.

The guilty verdict brings a sense of closure to the Iskander family, who have endured unimaginable grief since the loss of their beloved sons. Speaking outside the courtroom, the boys' parents expressed a mixture of relief and sadness, emphasizing their lack of hatred towards Grossman despite the pain she has caused. Their attorney, Brian J. Panish, echoed their sentiments, vowing to pursue justice civilly to prevent similar tragedies from occurring in the future.

As Rebecca Grossman was led away in handcuffs, her family was left to grapple with the consequences of her actions. With a sentencing hearing scheduled for April 10, Grossman faces the possibility of spending the rest of her life behind bars. While nothing can undo the devastation inflicted upon the Iskander family, the verdict serves as a reminder of the importance of accountability and the need for justice in the face of senseless tragedy.
