Texas Governor Abbott Slams Biden's Border Policies, Defends State's Right to Protect Itself

    2024-02-24

Texas Governor Greg Abbott reaffirmed the state's right to defend itself against invasion and criticized the Biden administration's border policies.

Governor Greg Abbott provided an update on Operation Lone Star, launched in 2021 to secure the Texas-Mexico border, reporting 501,300 illegal immigrant arrests and 467 million fentanyl doses seized. Tensions escalated after the Supreme Court allowed the removal of the razor wire from the border, which was ordered by Abbott and protested by federal agents.

Abbott invoked Texas's constitutional authority to protect itself, with support from 25 Republican governors and potential 2024 GOP candidate Donald Trump.

On X, Abbott posted about the constitutional right of states to defend themselves against invasion, citing the risks of cartels and fentanyl smuggling. He promised that Texas would continue to secure its borders and shared a press release that details the successes of Operation Lone Star.

Under the U.S. Constitution, states have the right to defend from invasion.
The cartels smuggling people & deadly fentanyl pose a danger to Texas & the U.S. Texas will continue to do the job Biden has failed to do—secure our southern border. Texas Governor Greg Abbott

The Dems offered a bill which allowed for up to 5,000 illegals to enter per week. It was also providing another general amnesty and billions of our tax dollars to bail out sanctuary cities. Frankly is sucked!
