Amy Schumer is talking openly about living with Cushing Syndrome after having to publicly comment on her appearance.

During press for the second season of her show "Life & Beth," Schumer addressed those being critical of how she looks, prompting her to reveal her Cushing syndrome diagnosis in Jessica Yellin's "News Not Noise" newsletter.

“I feel reborn. There are a few types of Cushing. Some that can be fatal, require brain surgery or removal of adrenal glands,” Schumer told the newsletter author. “While I was doing press on camera for my Hulu show, I was also in MRI machines four hours at a time, having my veins shut down from the amount of blood drawn and thinking I may not be around to see my son grow up.”

Schumer continued discussing the disease and how it will eventually clear up.

"So finding out I have the kind of Cushing that will just work itself out and I'm healthy was the greatest news imaginable. It has been a crazy couple weeks for me and my family" she said.

Schumer said it was the internet commenting on her appearance being the thing that made her seek treatement.

According to Johns Hopkins Medicine , Cushing syndrome is a "fairly rare" disorder and is sometimes called hypercortisolism.

"Life & Beth" is now streaming on Hulu.
