    Bayou Terrebonne Boucherie - Houma - March 2

    8043 Main Street

    Downtown Houma is the setting for a day of food, festivity, and teamwork at the fourth annual Bayou Terrebonne Boucherie. Good Cajun fun for the whole family, the festival will feature mounds of pork, live music, and the Cajun Cup, a series of bayou-themed competitions.

    Musical acts on two stages include:

    • Adam Pearce
    • Caleb Lapeyrouse & The Drivers
    • Nonc Nu & The Wild Matous
    • Travis Matte & The Zydeco Kingpins
    • No Posers

    Cajun Cup competitions include a pirogue race, chicken chase, nail drive, duck call, and barrel toss. A white bean cook-off will also take place.

    Free and open to the public, the event lasts from 11 AM to 10 PM.

    Louisiana Food Truck Festival - Slidell - March 2

    100 Harbor Center Blvd.

    Dozens of food trucks offering a wide variety of food choices will compete for "Best of the Fest" at the Louisiana Food Truck Festival. Happening twice a year, in March and October, at The Harbor Center, the festival provides live music, free face painting, vendors, and the opportunity to vote for the "People's Choice" winner.

    No outside food or drinks are permitted, but everyone is encouraged to bring their family and friends and chairs or blankets to enjoy an afternoon of fun and food. The festival is free and open to the public from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

    Arts Evening Cultural Festival - Slidell - March 2

    Erlanger Avenue

    Olde Towne Slidell is the location of one of the largest and most celebrated cultural festivals on the Northshore, the Arts Evening Cultural Festival. Art, live music, dancing, fine dining, antiques, and boutique shopping await visitors for this annual event which starts at 5:00 PM and lasts until 9:00 PM.

    Admission is free.

    Shadows Arts & Crafts Fair - New Iberia - March 2

    317 E. Main Street

    Held in the gardens of Shadows on the Teche twice a year, the Shadows Arts & Crafts Fair features vendors from around the state displaying and selling their original work. Desserts, food, and beverages will also be sold.

    Admission is $5 for guests over the age of 13 and free for those 12 and younger.

    Here's the Beef Cookoff - Opelousas - May 2

    1939 West Landry Street

    The 38th annual Here's the Beef Cookoff happens at the St. Landry Parish Ag Arena on Hwy. 190 behind the Yambilee Building. To start the day, a non-motorized trail ride begins at 8:00 AM with a $15 trail ride fee that includes food. Live music from Matthew Ewing & The All-Star Band and Richard LeBoeuf begins at 10:00 AM.

    Cook-off categories include:

    • Gourmet
    • Brisket
    • Tongue
    • Roast
    • Ground Meat
    • Stew or Rice & Gravy
    • Miscellaneous

    Cook-off judging starts at 10:00 AM. Admission is $10 for those 10 and over.

    Los Islenos Fiesta - St. Bernard - March 2 & 3

    1357 Bayou Road

    The Los Islenos Museum Complex is the setting for the annual Los Islenos Fiesta. The cultural heritage of the Canary Islanders, or Islenos, will be celebrated with music, folklore, cuisine folk art, and folk crafts.

    The festival begins at 11:00 AM each day, and ends at 10:00 PM on Saturday and 9:00 PM on Sunday.

    Zapp's International Beer Festival - Baton Rouge - March 2

    4560 Essen Lane

    Presented by the LSU Rural Life Museum & Windrush Gardens, Zapp's International Beer Fest XIX happens from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Saturday. Guests can enjoy tastings of over 200 domestic and international beers, ales, and home brews.

    Early admission is $65 for tastings, one plate of jambalaya, one non-alcoholic beverage, and 2:00 PM entry. Regular admission costs $45. No one under 21 years of age will be admitted.
