If you want to see Seattle Kraken draft pick Barrett Hall play for the Huskies, you'll have to travel a lot further than Montlake.

Hall, a 6th round choice by the Kraken in 2022, does indeed play all three forward positions for the Huskies - the St. Cloud State Huskies in Minnesota.

The 6-foot, 170 pound freshman has already attracted notice at St. Cloud St., a member of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association located 76 miles northwest of Minneapolis.

"For him to be able to play center or wing has been important for us," SCSU coach Brett Larson told TheRinkLive.com . The Huskies needed to replace three centers at the beginning of the season. "As young as we are down the middle and for him to stay in the lineup, it's a good thing."

Hall hails from the impossibly adorably-named Twin Cities suburb of Apple Valley, MN, which sounds like it should be a brand name for pancake mix or scented candles.

He averages more than 14 minutes per game for St. Cloud St., #15 in the latest NCAA Division I hockey rankings.

"He's been able to fit in wherever we need him, which makes him really valuable," Larson said. "His two greatest assets are his hockey sense and his stick. He's going to have to continue to get stronger to play at the highest levels. He's going to have to get a little more explosive with his skating. But his stick and brain are elite."

Hall, who just turned 20, has been working with the team nutritionist and its strength & conditioning coach. "Trying to put on some size and muscle so that I don't get thrown off the pucks in the corner.

"Adapting to that physicality is probably the biggest thing and I'm a pretty skinny guy. This summer is going to be huge for me continuing to work on that. The physicality can take you a long way."
