John Fogerty Shocked at Australian Country Music Festival Actions, Fans Livid

Country Fest Queensland scheduled to occur March 30-31, at the Pittman Bullpit has issued a statement that has shocked John Fogerty and angered fans.

On Tuesday, February 27 Country Fest Queensland issued a statement that John Fogerty has been dropped from the 2024 lineup due to "unforeseen circumstances."

Apparently the circumstances were only unforeseen to Fogerty and his fans.  In response, Fogerty issued a statement of his own on Instagram.

"I was ready to celebrate with you all for my one and only show this year in Australia when the Country Fest Queensland blindsided me yesterday by canceling my appearance. It was posted that I would not be appearing due to unforeseen circumstances.  Well, I can tell you, my friends, I was not the reason for the 'unforeseen circumstances,'" Fogerty stated just hours after the festival's statement.

Fogerty went on to say, "I was ready to come down there and excited to celebrate getting my songs back with all of you. Look for a further statement from me later today."

The move was confusing to all involved as the festival had announced just earlier this month how excited they were to have Fogerty at Country Fest QLD for his exclusive Australian appearance.

According to Billboard , Fogerty's representatives did not have anything to add beyond Fogerty's already published statement.

The Australian Broadcasting Company reported that the 'unforeseen circumstances' were the failed negotiations.  The news report stated that the Creedence Clearwater Revival lead and the organizers will have to meet in the Queensland Supreme Court some time next month.

After months of negotiations, an agreement couldn't be reached and now Fogerty will no longer be making his one and only stop in Australia after a 12 year hiatus.

On Tuesday evening, February 27 Fogerty posted another Instagram , "As far as I know, I'm ready willing and able to play. It's a big disappointment what's going on right now.  A shock, actually.  Sometimes things get complicated, beyond my grasp anyway."
