UFC welterweight contender Belal Muhammad has dates in mind for his planned crowning and the first step in his reign.

Muhammad has risen to a firm position in title contention owing to a 10-fight unbeaten run that includes five straight victories since a no contest opposite reigning champion Leon Edwards.

That run has seen "Remember the Name" get the better of Demian Maia, Stephen Thompson, Vicente Luque, Sean Brady, and Gilbert Burns. Despite that, he was passed up for the last shot, with the UFC favoring a third opportunity for the inactive Colby Covington .

And had things gone to plan for UFC 300, Muhammad was seemingly set to be left out in the cold once again, with reports revealing that Islam Makhachev, Shavkat Rakhmonov, and Khamzat Chimaev were all offered the next title fight instead .

Nevertheless, with all three names turning it down, Muhammad remains confident of finding himself opposite Edwards for the champ's third defense, so much so that he's even putting a defense of his own in the calendar...

Muhammad Targets Quick Turnaround After Title Win

In spite of other names being thrown around the welterweight title picture, Muhammad has continued his campaign for a rematch against "Rocky" on social media.

And in a recent post, the #2-ranked contender pitched a new date for his long-awaited shot, as well as committing to a quick turnaround to grant Rakhmonov an opportunity.

"Only looking ahead Leon in June first (title) defense Shavkat in October," Muhammad wrote.

First things first, Muhammad must actually secure a fight with "Rocky." While many have shown their support in that regard, insisting that he is more deserving, Dana White and the UFC are seemingly still not fully onboard.
