In January, the magic of social media touched Janice and her family as she asked users to stream her song, “Dance You Outta My Head,”  which she wrote while in hospice care fighting cancer. She wanted all proceeds from the song to go to her young son, Loren , so she could continue to support him financially after her passing. As Janice’s days on Earth dwindled, the popularity of the song increased as it charted on iTunes and streaming numbers skyrocketed.

The last couple months were a whirlwind and dream come true for Janice, who succumbed to cancer on February 28 while surrounded by her loving family.

“This morning, from her childhood home and surrounded by her loving family, Catherine peacefully entered the light and love of her heavenly creator,” her brother wrote on Instagram. “We are eternally thankful for the outpouring of love that Catherine and our family have received over the past few months. Cat saw her music go places she never expected and rests in the peace of knowing that she will continue to provide for her son through her music. This would not have been possible without all of you.”

According to her brother — who will now manage all operations surrounding Cat’s music, merchandise, and public relations.— there is more “art” to be released in the future per her request. He did not give a specific release date only specifying it will arrive “in due time.”
