This will be the 3x GRAMMY winner’s first self-produced record. “There are some places, emotionally, that you can only get to by taking the long walk into the woods alone – to find out what your heart is really saying,” St. Vincent said in a statment. “It sounds real because it is real.”

St. Vincent may have been All Born Screaming’s sole producer, but the singer and celebrated guitarist was not without help during its creation. Her collaborators included Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters as well as Josh Freese, Rachel Eckroth, Mark Guiliana, Cate Le Bon, Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Stella Mogzawa , David Ralicke and Cian Riordan.

While the full album is still almost two months away from release, one of its songs has already premiered, paired with a new music video directed by Alex Da Corte . The song is titled “Broken Man,” and its corresponding video features St. Vincent alone with a microphone in a pitch-black room. At various points throughout the video, St. Vincent’s body catches fire, but the flames quickly cease to the beat of the song. At the end of the video, the fire returns and engulfs St. Vincent. Abandoning the traditional “Stop, drop and roll” method, the artist dances as she sings the lyrics, “What are you looking at?”

“Broken Man” will be joined by nine other songs to complete the album, including “Hell is Near,” “Reckless,” “Flea,” “Big Time Nothing,” “Violent Times,” “The Power’s Out,” “Sweetest Fruit,” and “So Many Planets.” The aforementioned Le Bon will be featured on All Born Screaming’s titular and final track.

All Born Screaming is an invitation to test the limits of what is possible – and to then keep going,” according to the official press release. Fans are eager to transcend the bounds of possibility alongside St. Vincent as she embarks on the newest chapter of her acclaimed career.
