DAYTON — Edfinancial Services, one of only four student loan servicers in the United States, announced its sponsorship of the Rhea Heritage Preservation Foundation, producer of the Scopes Trial Play & Heritage Festivities and Nokian Tyres Summer Nights concerts.

“Edfinancial’s vote of confidence in the RHPF mission is a great encouragement,” RHPF President Rick Dye said. “Tony Hollin, Edfinancial’s co-founder and CEO, has deep roots in Rhea County. We believe Edfinancial’s support will enable RHPF to further develop its new program of telling the Scopes Trial story to students throughout Southeast Tennessee and beyond.” Edfinancial has hired 150 workers for its new Dayton office at the corner of Main and Market streets. “With roots here, we’re proud to be a part of the heritage and history of Rhea County,” Hollin said.

March 19-21, RHPF will present a special program about the Scopes Trial — “How It Started”— for area students, including a lecture and discussion about the trial.

In addition to the lecture and discussion in the Scopes Trial courtroom, the students will also receive a guided tour of the Rhea Heritage & Scopes Trial Museum, also in the historic Rhea County Courthouse.

“This is the kind of program Edfinancial’s support will continue to make possible,” Dye said.
