Fatal Crash Claims Two Young Lives in Las Vegas

In a heartbreaking turn of events, two individuals lost their lives in a fatal car crash in Las Vegas on Friday night. The incident, which occurred at approximately 10:11 p.m. at the intersection of Vegas Drive and Pyramid Drive, has left the community in shock and mourning.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department's preliminary investigation, a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria and an unidentified dark sedan were observed traveling east on Vegas Drive at a notably high speed. Tragically, their journey took a devastating turn when they approached the intersection with Pyramid Drive. At that moment, a 2005 Nissan Frontier, attempting to make a left turn from Pyramid Drive onto westbound Vegas Drive, intersected the path of the Ford.

The collision resulted in the Nissan making contact with the right side of the Ford, causing it to veer off course and collide with a city light pole. The impact was so severe that debris from the crash struck two parked vehicles nearby. Shockingly, the dark sedan involved in the incident failed to stop at the scene and continued eastbound on Vegas Drive, leaving behind a scene of devastation.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, but tragically, the driver and a passenger of the Ford, both just 16 years old, were pronounced deceased upon their arrival. The driver of the Nissan, however, remained at the scene and displayed no signs of impairment.

The loss of these young lives marks the 32nd and 33rd traffic-related fatalities within Metro's jurisdiction this year, underscoring the urgency of road safety measures and the importance of responsible driving.
