The Gallup Poll Shows Illegal Immigration as the No. 1 Problem

After this past week’s event as President Joe Biden and Republican challenger Donald Trump stopped along the Texas border, immigration could be the typing point for men in this year’s election. Recent polls show immigration is at the top of the list that most people want addressed. 

Donald Trump was met by Texas Governor Greg Abbott as he stopped in Eagle Pass in a Yahoo News article. President Joe Biden was several hundred miles away as he stopped in Brownsville according to Fox News. Both locations are hotspots along the southern border where illegal immigrants cross.

Governor Abbott said during the visit according to ABC News:

"I am very thankful for the model set by President Trump. President Trump showed that when he was in office, he was able to secure the border.” 

According to a Gallup poll released on February 27, immigration was the number one concern of those polled followed by the government. Then 55% saw illegal immigration as a critical threat in the United States. 

Americans see illegal immigration as a problem with the presidential election is 8 months away. 

Governor Abbott said while on the border with 13 other governors said according to a press release:

“During his presidency, Joe Biden has smashed records for illegal immigration and allowed total chaos to be unleashed along our southern border.”

While visiting the border, Donald Trump said according to ABC News:

"This is a Joe Biden invasion. This is a Biden invasion over the past three years."
