A North Carolina voter who went from supporting former President Donald Trump to Nikki Haley offered a succinct explanation for the switch.

Voters in 15 states headed to the polls on Tuesday to cast ballots in the presidential primaries and other races in what’s shaping to be an anticlimactic finish at the top of the ticket. Trump and President Joe Biden are expected to cruise to big victories as they head toward a rematch in November.

NBC News’ Shaq Brewster was in North Carolina on Tuesday to speak with voters about their candidate preferences.

One man said he’s voting for Haley.

“One, I think she would do a very good job,” he said in the segment aired on Tuesday’s Deadline: White House on MSNBC. “And, two, I think Donald Trump is a threat to the well-being of our country.”

Another voter Brewster spoke to said she if she had to choose between Biden and Trump, she’d go with Trump. Meanwhile, another woman was even less enthusiastic about the prospect of voting for Trump:

BREWSTER: What made you switch from Trump to Nikki Haley?

WOMAN: The man is a lunatic. And I think he’s terrible for the country.

BREWSTER: What are you thinking about when you say that?

WOMAN: Just that he lies, he cheats. He bankrupted millions of businesses and people. And I don’t see anything good about him.

BREWSTER: Let me ask, if Donald Trump is the nominee in November, do you support Joe Biden over Donald Trump?

    WOMAN: No.

    BREWSTER: What do you do?

    WOMAN: I don’t know.

Trump won North Carolina in 2016 and 2020. The Tar Heel state is not expected to be competitive in a Biden-Trump rematch. According to CNN exit polling conducted on Tuesday, 62% of GOP voters say Trump is fit to be president even if he is convicted of a crime.

The former president is under indictment in four jurisdictions.

We can all posts under stories like this and it will do nothing, will change nothing. The only power we have to make a difference is to vote in November. I am not a Biden fan but I will NEVER vote for Trump. VOTE!!! VOTE!!! VOTE!!! Get your family to vote. Get your friends to vote. This election is going to be so close that we cannot afford not to vote.

I'm wondering what the other countries around the world think when they hear it said that tRump is fit to be president even if he is convicted. since when have we ever had a criminal for president until tRump came along and we didn't put him in office Vladimir Putin did by interfering in our political election and his aim to bring down democracies. we have all the proof in the world of Putin's involvement in 2016 because Clinton was more popular but Putin hated Hillary and Bill Clinton so he threw the election to tRump because he's Putin's puppet.
