WACO, TX ( FOX 44 ) — The three-game winning streak came to an end for the Baylor Baseball team on Tuesday night, as the Bears couldn’t dig out of an early hole in a midweek loss to No. 17 Dallas Baptist.

Early on the in the game, Tanner Duke was able to contain the Patriots’ offense, most notably getting out of a bases loaded, one out jam in the top of the second inning.

DBU eventually broke through in the top of the third though, as former McLennan Highlander Miguel Santos drove in a run with an RBI single up the middle, before Grant Jay put up a crooked number with a two-run home run.

The Bears immediately responded in the bottom of the third, as Ty Johnson score on a wild pitch in his first game back from injury, but DBU scored four unanswered runs from there to extend the lead out for good.

The loss to the Patriots wraps up a nine game homestand for Mitch Thompson’s team. The Bears will next be in action on Friday, March 8th, when they travel to Houston to take on the Cougars at 6:30 pm.
