    Lena's Brooks named M&O's Most Outstanding Player

    LENA — Lena’s Eva Brooks was selected as the Most Outstanding Player in Marinette and Oconto Conference as the M&O released its All-Conference lists on Tuesday.

    Brooks, a junior, led the M&O in scoring (19.6 points per game), rebounds (12.2), assists (4.1) and blocks (3.9) in addition to averaging nearly three steals (2.9) each night.

    Brooks was one of four Wildcats to collect All-Conference honors, which tied Oneida Nation for the most selections from one school.

    Madilyn Thomson garnered First Team recognition while Kali Fischer and Whitney Potter both received Honorable Mention.

    Crivitz freshman Kiya Brand took home Most Outstanding Defensive Player honors after averaging 4.3 steals and 3.9 turnovers per game.

    Brand and Brooks also earned spots on the All-Conference First Team alongside Oneida Nation’s Jaylyn Caldwell, Gillett’s Cilena Guns and Coleman’s Kiersten Jensen.

    Vivian Kostreva (Coleman), Mariah Cloud (Oneida Nation), Lucy Gruszynski (Crivitz) Mallory Sanicki (Niagara) and Bunny Cramer (Suring) make up the All-Conference Second Team.

    Kate Peters of Saint Thomas Aquinas Academy received Honorable Mention, as did Coleman’s Alyssa Hoida, Wausaukee’s Melody Schaal, Oneida Nation’s Rhianna Danforth and Madalyn King, and Gillett’s Hope Soper and Aubrey Pate.
