I called a few months back and was looking for help with spaying my kitten. There are no programs to help with the cost of spay/nuter. When I lived in WI we had a great program the not only helped but paid for it. I feel if we had something to at help with the cost that would help a lot of overpopulation. I would be interested in a toy fox or rat terrier if there was any available

First of all most no kill shelters like our Humane Society do KILL the animals! They deem the "unadoptable" which most people think vicious, old or sick but if they have been there too long, too many of a certain breed or have certain issues they are euthanized. These are perfectly good animals. Up to 1/3 of our Humane Society's animals were euthanized as of 1 yr ago. Second.....do not donate to these large national organizations! They do not send the funds to the local orgs that do the work & need the $$. They are great at advertising, fundraising for themselves & high salaries for their top brass. Give local or volunteer! The local orgs really do need $$ and are much more frugal with $$ than the big national orgs.
