Tar Heels seek first outright ACC title since 2017 with a win against Duke

There's more than just pride on the line in the second top 10 matchup of the season between UNC and Duke this Saturday.

Why it matters: If No. 7 UNC beats No. 9 Duke in Durham this weekend, the Tar Heels will be the outright ACC regular-season champions for the first time since 2017.

    • If the Blue Devils win, the two schools will share the title.
    • Both teams are also still trying to build a case to be a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

State of play: Duke and UNC have been by far the two best teams in the ACC this season.

    • Since losing in Chapel Hill, Duke has won eight of their last nine games, and they've only lost one home game in the ACC all season.
    • UNC is coming off a commanding, 33-point victory against Notre Dame on Tuesday.
