Student who fired airsoft pistol on school grounds now faces weapons charge

    2024-03-09

There is a joint investigation between the Banks County Sheriff’s Office and the Banks County Board of Education into a report of an incident on March 4. An individual reported the incident to school authorities, who in turn, reported it to law enforcement, the sheriff's office said in a news release.

According to the sheriff's office, a student carried an airsoft pistol in his vehicle onto school grounds the investigation indicated. After an organized school sporting event, the student showed the airsoft pistol to another student and discharged it. There were no injuries and no threats were made.

The student was charged with carrying a weapon on school property by the Banks County Sheriff’s Office. The school administration has addressed disciplinary actions against the student.

This is completely stupid the air soft gun has no firing pin so therefore it isn’t a firearm. They are gonna try and ruin someone’s life over a gun that shoots plastic bb’s with absolutely no risk of causing permanent harm to anyone.
