The Georgia Presidential Preference Primary takes places Tuesday. Polls will open statewide at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Voters in all counties can vote during those hours at their assigned precincts. Those still in line at 7 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Voting in the Georgia Presidential Preference Primary has been going for a few weeks with early voting kicking off on Feb. 19. President Joe Biden is expected to lead the ballot in the Democratic primary, while former President Donald Trump is expected to lead the field in the Republican primary.

The presidential primaries are the only election in Oconee County. However, residents of Winterville in Athens-Clarke County will vote on a special measure that will allow the city to regulate the Sunday sales of alcohol by the drink. Voters will vote either yes or no.

This question will be on both Republican and Democratic party ballots.
