If our Government engineers/planners were smart, they would reroute I-90 onto the Beltway west and reconstruct 12 from the south side of Baraboo to Middleton. New bridge over the river and limited access obviously in the route. This would be eligible for I believe a higher federal funding percentage. Then they wouldn't have to expand I 90/94/39 to 4 or even 5 lanes through Madison. I-90 would rejoin I-94 and I-39 at the Dells. Interestingly that would make the section from the beltline to I-94 where it comes in from Milwaukee, strictly I-39. About 4 miles I guess.
