Robins reach PI adapted hockey final, Crimson win both consolation titles

The Robbinsdale Robins and Maple Grove adapted floor hockey programs took part in the PI and CI state tournaments last week, with the Robins reaching the PI final while Maple Grove won both consolation titles.

Robbinsdale Robins

The Robbinsdale Robins secured a 12-2 win over the South Suburban Flyers in the quarterfinals of the PI adapted floor hockey tournament.

The Robins kept the wins coming the next day, beating the Rochester Raiders 10-5 in the semifinals to power their way to the final later that afternoon.

The final pitted the Robins against fellow adapted sports powerhouse Dakota United. The Robins put up a brave performance, but did lose 5-1 in the end, finishing in second place in the tournament.

The Robins represent a co-op program between Robbinsdale Armstrong, Robbinsdale Cooper, St. Louis Park, Hopkins and Mound Westonka.

Maple Grove

The Maple Grove-Osseo-Park Center PI adapted floor hockey team lost 4-3 to the Rochester Raiders on Mar. 8 in the quarterfinals.

The Crimson co-op responded well to adversity, beating South Suburban Flyers 12-3 and Minneapolis South 7-1 in the consolation bracket to end the tournament as consolation champions, repeating their finish in the 2023 edition of the tournament.

The Maple Grove-Osseo-Park Center CI adapted floor hockey team faced Dakota United Hawks in their quarterfinals and fell 9-6.

The Crimson beat South Suburban 13-10 and the Mankato Knights 10-9 in two thrilling games to earn the consolation championship the next day. This continued a successful run of years for the program, which finished third last season in the CI tournament.
