As the three-day virtual 55th annual NAACP Image Awards kicked things off on Monday March 11, Victoria Monét and Chris Brown are already leading the list of early winners.

Each double winners on night one, which was streamed online, Monét won awards for Outstanding Album and Outstanding New Artist , both for Jaguar II . Brown nabbed the awards for Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration (Contemporary) for his hit “Sensational” featuring Davido & Lojay , as well as Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration (Traditional) for his feature on Ciara ’s “How We Roll.”
Usher , H.E.R. , Megan Thee Stallion , Kirk Franklin and Tems were also amongst the winners of the 13 awarded music categories, during Monday’s stream, hosted by actor Khleo Thomas .
The NAACP will continue to recognize winners virtually until Wednesday March 13 on naacpimageawards.net , then with an awards dinner and program hosted by Sherri Shepherd on Thursday, March 14, followed by a fashion show hosted by Brandee Evans on Friday, March 15.
Honorees for both evenings include Frankie Beverly , who is set to be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the awards dinner, as well as June Ambrose with the NAACP Vanguard Award for Fashion, at the fashion show.
The televised 55th NAACP Image Awards, hosted by Queen Latifah , will premiere live on Saturday, March 16 at 8PM ET/PT on BET and CBS. During which New Edition will be inducted into the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame.
