There's been a lot of talk of spring recently, but it's still feeling pretty wintry in the Wasatch and this week has brought fresh snow and colder temperatures across the range.

Last night, Alta Ski Area recorded ~9 inches of new snow between 5pm and 5am. The storm total for this cycle is 20 inches, which brings the current base depth at Alta to 159 inches. In other exciting news, this season brought Alta over the 500 inch mark for season snow totals.

I can confirm that this most recent storm has made for some fun powder skiing in the backcountry, and it seems like resorts across the range are stoked on a fresh dump. While there are indications of spring in the air, this storm is a reminder that we've still got some winter left. Last season, we were skiing well into May and June. Only time will tell how this season will continue to unfold, but I'm certainly not putting my ski stuff away anytime soon!
