The bitter feud stemming between Ian Garry and Colby Covington has reached a new level, with the Irishman stating that if he and "Chaos" get in the Octagon, he wants to be able to rid the MMA world of the outlandish character once and for all.

As Garry continues to climb his way up the UFC's welterweight ranking, the former Cage Warriors champion called out Covington following a win over Geoff Neal at UFC 298 last month.

The callout went unanswered for a few weeks before Covington emerged, laying it into Garry through a social media post with insults before naming three stipulations for a fight between the pair to happen.

Those three stipulations included the Irish star turning Instagram comments back on, Garry's wife, Layla, to beg for the fight, and for "The Future's" wife to pose with Covington in a social media video.

Now, Garry has fired back in a social media post of his own, claiming that even though Covington is the former interim UFC welterweight champion, his lack of success in recent times should mean that it's "Chaos" who needs the fight with Garry more than the other way around.

Ian Garry Promises To Rid UFC Of Colby Covington & 'Make MMA Great Again'

"You are in no position to tell me what I should be doing in life. You'll do as your told," Garry said, a reference to Conor McGregor's line to Michael Chandler during the first episode of last year's TUF season. "You gave me three stipulations – all of which have nothing to do about fighting. They were all talking about my wife. I don’t know how you were raised but women aren’t property and my wife definitely ain’t no trophy. You should be focusing on me.

"You’re not America's favorite fighter. What you are is a peak under-performer. You're the only person in UFC history to lose three world title fights, and you haven't got a single win against anybody in the top 15 right now."

Garry added that if "Chaos" wants to step into the Octagon with him, he wants to add a stipulation of his own. "The Future" challenged his American counterpart to a classic professional wrestling stipulation — an "I Quit" match.

And unlike what may normally happen in pro wrestling, Garry says he wants the loser of this "I Quit" match to retire from MMA for good. He wants to go through with this to ensure that the sport would no longer have to deal with Covington and his antics ever again.

"Whoever says the words 'I quit' has to retire, gloves off, center of the Octagon, sayonara, my friend," Garry said. "I'm going to be the final chapter in your legacy of failure. I'm going to rid the UFC of Colby Covington for good. And I'm going to make MMA great again."

While it seems this back and forth is set to continue, it remains to be seen whether or not the UFC will place the pair opposite one another for a showdown inside the Octagon later this year.

"The Future" has previously called for a matchup with "Chaos" to co-headline Conor McGregor's long-awaited return.
