The, “This Week in History” bit rolls on. Napoleon, J. R. Ewing and Peyton make this week’s addition. And here we go.

March 18, 1869: British Prime Minister, Neville Chamberlain was born.

Chamberlain was the British Prime Minister from May 28, 1937-May 19, 1940. He was noted for his policy of appeasement toweatds Hitler. And because of this, history remembers him as a sub-prime minister.

March 19, 2003: The Iraq War begins.

    U. S. President, George W. Bush declared war on Iraq stating Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction hidden somewhere. Somehow, I don’t think the word “Whoops!” covers it.

March 20, 1727: Sir Isaac Newton’ who is given credit for discovering gravity died.

Newton discovered gravity at the age of 35 when he stood in front of a mirror after getting out of a bathtub.

March 21, 1980: J. R. Ewing, of the TV show, Dallas, is shot.

It was a season ending cliff hanger, and J. R.s life hung in the balance as Larry Hagman’s contract was being negotiated.

March 22, 1894: The Montreal Amateur Association hockey team won the first Stanley Cup.

That’s amazing. The Stanley Cup playoffs were over before the end of March.

March 23, 1997: The movie, Titanic, won 11 Acadamy Awards.

And I still wonder why Kate Winslet couldn’t have moved over and let Jack have some room on whatever she was floating on.

March 24,1976: Peyton Manning was born.

Peton was famous for shouting out the name of his birthplace during games. He would constantly shout out, “Omaha, Omaha!” Hold on, being told he wasn’t actually born in Omaha, he was just pitching Omaha Steaks. What’s that? It turns out that’s not the case either. Well, he was on March 24, 1976, and I’ll leave it at that.
