Make all the ticket price jokes that you want, but Pearl Jam 's Eddie Vedder has found a number of commonalities between the Punk shows of his youth and the communal fan base of Taylor Swift 's army of Swifties.

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has revealed that, after preparing friendship bracelets and then attending Taylor Swift 's Eras Tour with one of his daughters, her Swifties struck him as remarkably similar to "the misfits" who gravitated toward each other in the Punk rock scene he grew up in.

As fans are well aware, a big night out for Swifties doesn't start at the arena entrance. Creating custom outfits as well as armfuls of friendship bracelets to share with other attendees are all part of the run-up, and Vedder was all for it, obviously giving him flashbacks of the DIY band patches, pins, and merch of his early Punk days. Speaking with Mojo in a new interview, Vedder said he was struck by "the generosity of these young girls and boys, trading these bracelets with different messages on them – lyrics, song titles, just acts of goodwill on these little bracelets.”

Before fronting Pearl Jam, the Seattle Grunge legend got his start in the local music scenes of both his hometown of Chicago and later San Diego and has found that today's Swifties have similarly "found their tribe" amongst likeminded fans adding, "they were all agreeing on something,” just as he and his "misfits" had back in the day. "The craziest thing was it reminded me of Punk rock crowds," he says, "of being aligned with all of the misfits in our town.”

Although Taylor is currently on an Eras Tour break, she will be returning to the road this summer alongside openers Paramore . “See you in May when we get back to the Eras Tour," she said in a recent social media post before dropping the bomb, "In the meantime I’ve got an album to release…”

Swift's 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department , is set for release on April 19.

As for Pearl Jam, the band recently revealed the new single "Dark Matter," from their forthcoming album of the same name, which is also set for release on April 19. Vedder & Co. will hit the road this year to support their 12th studio album with dates scheduled to kick off on May 4. Take a full look at their itinerary and grab your tickets HERE .
