    Blounts Creek home “fully engulfed” in Sunday fire

    Multiple emergency service departments responded to a structure fire at 168 Evergreen Lane in the Crystal Beach community in Blounts Creek at approximately 6:22 p.m. on Sunday, Mar. 17. A single-wide mobile home was “fully engulfed in fire,” according to Blounts Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Several vehicles, boats and a workshop were also involved in the fire.

    A nearby fire in a wooded area contributed to the house fire, according to the volunteer fire department.

    It took three local fire crews 45 minutes to extinguish the fire, and several additional hours to extinguish hot spots.

    According to Beaufort County Emergency Management, there were no reported injuries.
