Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and 50 Cent honor Dr. Dre at Walk of Fame ceremony

Kinda seems a bit overdue, since a majority of the rappers he helped come up have already received one, but Dr. Dre was officially honored with a star of his own on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

There to support the legendary producer/MC were many of his mentees, collaborators, and friends including Snoop Dogg , Eminem , and 50 Cent , as well as Xzibit , and Interscope's Jimmy Iovine.

In addition to his music family, Dre was also accompanied by three of his nine kids; Truice Young , Tyler Young and Truly Young .

"I'd like to thank the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce who felt that I was finally ready to walk in the footsteps of Ice Cube , Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent — all of whom got stars before me for some f***ing reason," Dre joked to the crowd during his speech. ”Don't trip, I'm not bitter. It's all good, I'm here now.”

Dre also went on to note how he's now joined his "childhood heroes" on the sidewalk, and expressed his gratitude that “I’ve been fortunate enough to make a living doing exactly what I love to do."

"I'm incredibly grateful for your support throughout the years, most of us have grown up together," he continued. "At nearly 60 years old, you're still rocking with me and I really appreciate that, which is really good because I'm nowhere near done.” Adding, "You better believe there's a lot more coming."

During the ceremony Snoop also said a few words during the ceremony to celebrate his longtime friend and frequent collaborator's career milestone.

Describing the legend as "my teacher, mentor, brother, guardian, protector, and most importantly a good friend,” Snoop's tribute to Dre continued with some bars he he crafted for the special occasion.

"Dr. Dre, my brother from another mother, a rock in the sands on the beach he'd soon discover / Now we deep cover, blood brothers on a mission, Dre's edition," Snoop said. "House with no furniture, studio in the back with a little bit of food in the kitchen / Long Beach to Compton to Calabasas, compositions; pay attention /Quincy had Michael, they rewrote the cycle / So if Dre is Q and Mike is Snoop, we bang G thang, motherf***ing supergroup.”

Snoop also said, ”Dre is the greatest partner, friend, ally you could possibly have. For all you people out there that are aspiring to get into entertainment, when you go to bed tonight, pray you meet a Dr. Dre."
