Long Standing Panama City Hangout "No Name Lounge" to Close Doors Indefinitely

    2024-03-22

Bay County residents will soon have one less spot to catch a sunset while enjoying a relaxing beverage. Popular Panama City hangout the "No Name Lounge" will be closing its doors indefinitely after over 40 years at the foot of the Hathaway bridge on the St. Andrews bay.

The bar confirmed the news via their Facebook page on Tuesday 3/19/24 after rumors floated around the internet Tuesday morning. "We’d hoped to share the news to our team prior to making a public announcement but since everyone knows, the news is true. The No Name Lounge will be closing it’s doors indefinitely. Unfortunately, a practical negotiation could not be made to keep the business on the property it’s remained since the 80’s. Our team is completely saddened at the loss of our beloved landmark, a home away from home." According to the Facebook post. "Although this news sucks, we’re looking forward to going out with a bang The party won’t stop till the doors close for the final night… closing date coming soon. We love you all, thank you as always for your continued support." As of Wednesday night the post has garnered close to 700 comments, some of them in support of the bar, some of them in disbelief and some reminiscing on the good times had.

In addition to sunsets by the bay and one of the strongest drinks in Bay County, No Name was known for its annual Thanksgiving Eve/Black Wednesday party where patrons of all ages gathered to ring in the holiday. No word on whether ownership plans to attempt to relocate to another location or if this is the end for the No Name Lounge.
