Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe Open Late on Fridays

Starting this week at Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe, you can ski until six every Friday through the end of the season.

Rose has been doing this for a few years now, and I must say, skiing at a mountain until six is much better than working the mountain until six.

You won’t be able to ski the whole mountain, but they will have the Lakeview lift open with an on mountain DJ.

You’ll also be able to snag a lift ticket after noon for $69. Not a bad deal for six hours of skiing.

Rose is located just outside of Reno, NV and boasts Tahoe’s highest ski resort base at 8,260’. It’s a fan favorite of many Renoites where they can head up Mt. Rose Highway 25 minutes and make a couple hours of skiing worthwhile

Rose is also home to The Chutes. It’s a north-facing horseshoe bowl with multiple entry points that is one of North America’s longest sustained 40-55 degree aspects.To put it simply, they’re really long and really steep.

Rose is often cast in the shadow of the likes of Palisades, Kirkwood, and the other heavy hitting resorts around Tahoe, but Rose has a certain home mountain charm to it with surprisingly good terrain.
