Fire Rips Through Attached Garage, Spreading To Home In Suffolk County

ISLIP TERRACE, N.Y. - A home on East Roslyn Street was extensively damaged by a large fire that broke out in an attached garage on Saturday night.

First responders from the Islip Terrace Fire Department were called to the residential neighborhood - situated just north of Sunrise Highway - after 911 calls reported heavy smoke and flames emanating from a house at around 8:00PM.

Firefighters arrived at the scene to discover an attached garage completely consumed by flames, with the fire rapidly extending into the home.

Amidst the chaos, a firefighter was seen delicately carrying an American flag to safety from the damaged home, ensuring its preservation from destruction.

Firefighters from the Islip Terrace, East Islip, and Central Islip Fire Departments collaborated to successfully extinguish the fire.
