Burnin' It Down with Willie

It is no secret about Willie Nelson's love of marijuana. He has his own company called Willie's Reserve.  The company offers infused coffee, teas, tinctures, topicals, hemp smokes and CBD vapes.

"Marijuana saved my life and it probably saved some other people's lives, too.  Before I started smoking, I was drinking a lot and it was probably going to kill me, in fact, I might have even killed someone.  So, it definitely saved my life," Willie said in an interview.

It also seems that some other stars have had the experience right alongside the legendary star.  In fact, the late great Toby Keith wrote a song about it, "I'll Never Smoke Weed with Willie Again."

The first verse starts out like this.

I always heard that his herb was top shelf/ Lord I just could not wait to find out for myself/Well don't knock it till you've tried it/And I've tried it my friend/I'll never smoke Weed with Willie again!

Kacey Musgraves has also partaken in the activity.  Musgraves history with Nelson goes back to 2015 when she was on tour with the oldest recording and touring artist.

While on The Howard Stern Show to promote her new album Deeper Well , Musgraves shared some of her stories and memories with Nelson.

Musgraves treasures a partially smoked joint, which she had framed and keeps in her house.

"He twisted one up for us, and said, 'Now you kids enjoy this on the road.' We all smoked half of it with him, and then put it out.  I was like, I'm saving that!

I've smoked with Willie a lot.  We were on tour together, and actually, it was early on, it was such an insane tour.  It was me, Alison Krauss and Willie.  Insane line-up, is was so cool.

He was very generous with his stash," Musgraves remembers.

Johnny Knoxville also admitted that he had smoked weed with Willie.  On The Howard Stern Show , Knoxville admitted that, "I don't smoke weed good, it just hits me wrong.

Luke Combs also has a great story.  While playing cards with Nelson, he took just a couple of "hits" of weed and had to splash water on himself to come down off the "high."

Combs claims to have seen Nelson "Crane Kick" a punching bag several times during his high and then return to the card table as if nothing had happened.

Woody Harrelson had given up the habit of smoking weed for a few years, that was until he ran into Willie. Harrelson said that Nelson didn't really believe or accept that Harrelson had quit.

When he decided to break the streak, Nelson was there. In an interview on the show Ellen , Harrelson tells the story.

"I take a big draw off of the joint, and Willie says, 'Welcome home, son."
