    Ag Academy plant sale ‘off with the wind’

    Going! Going! and soon to be Gone!

    Monday was a cold, windy March morning but it was warm in the greenhouses.

    The Pike County Schools Agriscience Academy opened its 2024 Plant Sale at 7:45 a.m. Monday morning and business was good.

    Cody Eiland, Agriscience instructor, said the 2024 Plant Sale is scheduled to end on at 3:30 p.m. Friday but if the weather remains sunny and the wind co-operates, there won’t be many, if many, plants in the greenhouses.

    “We may still have some plants left on Thursday but probably won’t have many, if any. ferns,” Eiland said. “We should have, plants through Thursday.

    Plants available for sale include: Terracotta Pots: Citronella, $20; Mixed Deck Planters, $20;

    Three gallon pots include Macho Ferns, $20; Sword Ferns, $20; Citronella, $20;

    Hanging Baskets:

    Boston Ferns, $20; Spider Plants, $20; Wax Begonias, $20; Geraniums, $20; Flowering Baskets, $20;

    One gallon pots- Coleus, $10; Lantanas, $10; Salvia, $10.

    Four-inch pots -Impatiens, $4; six packs Vincas, $4; Petunias, $4; Vegetables (tomato, cucumber, squash, watermelon, zucchini, etc.) $4. The plant sale will end at 3:30 Friday or until all plants are sold.
