The Urology Health Foundation held a free prostate cancer screening on Saturday at the Pike County Health Department,

Prostate cancer screening is important in that it provides an opportunity for early detection and that can be life-saving.

Dr. Thomas Moody, president of the Urology Health Foundation said 111 men were screened for prostate cancer on Saturday.

“Saturday was a successful screening,” Moody said. “We screened those 111 men for prostate cancer and we appreciate their coming. For those who were unable to come, they should see their physician.”

The recommendation for the Urology Health Foundation is that screening for prostate cancer should start at age 40.

“Those who do not have a physician but still wish to be screened can go the Butler County Health Department in Greenville on May 11,” Moody said.

A full listing of the Urology Health Foundation’s screening opportunities is available on its website at www.UrologyHealthFoundation.org ( http://www.urologyhealthfoundation.org/ )
