(670 The Score) The Bears are moving forward with full intentions to build a state-of-the-art stadium along Chicago’s lakefront on the campus just south of Soldier Field.

Though the Bears do own the 326-acre property at Arlington Park, team president/CEO Kevin Warren reiterated that the sole focus is on a stadium in Chicago.

“The plan will be to put a shovel in the ground on the lakefront,” Warren told reporters on Tuesday morning at the NFL owners meetings in Orlando.

The Bears plan to release renderings and a timeline for the lakefront stadium plan at a later point. Their shift away from Arlington Park came amid a battle over property taxes with three local school districts in suburban Arlington Heights.

In February 2023, the Bears closed on their $197.2-million purchase of the Arlington Park property. But the plan has now moved back to the city of Chicago.

The Bears play their home games at Soldier Field under a lease through the city’s park district that runs through 2033.
