Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.

A Beacon man is facing a felony drug charge after his arrest in Hyde Park on Monday near St. Peter's School. Jose Cruz is accused of being directly connected to the distribution of fentanyl in the county. A search warrant executed at his home led to the seizure of an illegal gun, fentanyl, and cocaine packaged for sale. The 22-year-old is currently in the county jail without bail, with several more charges pending.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of an inmate. Jairo Navarro was found dead earlier this week. Preliminary results of the autopsy by the Orange County Medical Examiner's Office showed no signs of physical trauma or foul play. The cause of death will be released pending the results of the toxicology report in the upcoming weeks.

A Hudson Valley bank manager has pleaded guilty to paying a hitman to kill her brother-in-law while he was on vacation. Reshma Massarone was arrested last August after being caught on surveillance video sending $2,500 to a security guard. The hitman alerted her brother-in-law of the plot, who then notified the police. Massarone worked at the Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union in Woodstock.
