The icon took to social media with a red, white and blue themed poster featuring apparent song titles scattered throughout. “16 Carriages,” and “Texas Hold ‘Em” were included on the poster, which are the two songs released earlier this year along with the announcement of her first Country album. Also on the poster is the title, “Jolene,” which original singer, Dolly Parton , shared in recent weeks that she believes Beyoncé had recorded a cover of for the album.

"Well I think she has,” Parton said in a recent interview with Knox News when asked about Beyoncé covering the classic. “I think she's recorded 'Jolene' and I think it's probably gonna be on her Country album, which I'm very excited about that... I love her! She's a beautiful girl and a great singer."

In addition to a section reading “Jolene,” there is another that simply reads Dolly P., making it unclear if that’s a feature, song title, or something else. In addition to Dolly, Beyoncé also name dropped Country great, Willie Nelson with “Smoke Hour” written above. Clearly, she’s having some fun teasing fans and letting their minds run wild with possibilities before releasing the full project to the word this Friday, March 29.

The 32-time GRAMMY winner recently shared the inspiration to make a Country album after years of success in Hip-Hop & R&B was fueled by a negative experience with the Country genre, which prompted her to research the history behind it and blaze a trail of acceptance.

“This album has been over five years in the making,” she shared, proving she’s taken the time to really dig deep. “It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed… and it was very clear that I wasn’t. But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive. It feels good to see how music can unite so many people around the world, while also amplifying the voices of some of the people who have dedicated so much of their lives educating on our musical history.”

The results of Bey’s dive into Black history within Country music is clear with the apparent tracklist, which references The Linda Martell Show, the first commercially successful Black artist to play the historic Grand Ole Opry.

Beyoncé has already made history of her own in the genre as the first Black, female artist ever to snag a number one spot on Country charts, and while honored by the impact, she shared the creation of this album stands for so much more as she hopes it helps to erase the lines of race within musical genres.

“I feel honored to be the first Black woman with the number one single on the Hot Country Songs chart,” she shared in a statement. “That would not have happened without the outpouring of support from each and every one of you. My hope is that years from now, the mention of an artist’s race, as it relates to releasing genres of music, will be irrelevant.”
