    Easter Sunday is this weekend, so it's a great time to get out and enjoy the sunshine. These are the festivals happening during Easter weekend.

    Louisiana Lao New Year Celebration - Broussard - March 29, 30, 31

    7913 Champa Avenue

    Every Easter weekend, Lanexang Village celebrates Lao New Year with a 3-day festival. There will be live music, parades, a beauty pageant, kids' activities, sand castle building, and vendors selling clothing, jewelry, music, and Southeast Asian food.

    All-access passes that include reserved parking, a free guided tour, food, access to the VIP parade lounge, and the Tea-Time performance banquet are available for $50.

    Slidell Spring Antique Street Fair - Slidell - March 30 & 31

    Erlanger, First, and Second Streets

    An annual, 2-day family event, the Slidell Spring Antique Street Fair ranges over six blocks in Olde Towne Slidell. From 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on both days, the fair will feature vendor booths selling antiques, collectibles, arts & crafts, and food. The town's antique shops will be open and there will be music on three stages.

    Admission is free.

    Pockin' on the Bayou Festival - Cottonport - March 30

    Egg pockin' contests, an Easter egg hunt, a spoon race, an Easter bonnet contest, a crawfish eating contest, a boudin eating contest, an egg toss, a pirogue race, and duck races all happen at the annual Pockin' on the Bayou Festival in Cottonport.

    Freret Street Festival - New Orleans - March 30

    Freret from Napolean to Valmont

    From 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, six blocks of Freret Street will contain over 200 local artists and chefs, 46 brick-and-mortar businesses, three stages, and 20 bands for the Freret Street Festival. The musical lineup includes the Marigny Street Brass Band, Honey Island Swamp Band, Hip Hop Showcase with Crave, Cupid, Justjocin, and Geske, Margie Perez, and Feufollet.

    Pioneer & Heritage Festival - Merryville - March 30

    628 North Railroad Avenue

    Grounds of the Merryville Museum are open from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM for the Merryville Pioneer & Heritage Festival. Admission is free.

    Lafayette Holi Festival - Lafayette - March 30

    500 Girard Park

    The 12th annual Lafayette Holi Festival takes place in Girard Park at 11:00 AM. The festival features color play, Bollywood music and dancing, and Indian food. Pizza, a Kona ice cream truck, Subzero ice cream, and beer will also be available.
