Support River Grove Elementary and local artists at the first Art & Craft Fair

Community members will have the chance to browse the work of local craftspeople, artisans and elementary school students at the first River Grove Art & Craft Fair.

Thirty local art and craft vendors, plus eight food vendors, will set up shop for one day only. The Art & Craft Fair is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 6 at Uplands Elementary, located at 2055 Wembley Park Road.

Organized by the River Grove parent-teacher organization, the Art & Craft Fair has already raised $3,000 through vendor booth fees to support the school. By attending the fair and supporting the local vendors, people can support River Grove Elementary and potentially make the fair an annual tradition for the school.

While it may be too early to call it “holiday shopping,” there will be plenty of home decor and art vendors at the fair, making it a perfect opportunity to refresh your home before spring cleaning begins. Local artists will also be selling jewelry and ceramics, which are ideal gifts for a spring or summer birthday.

River Grove Elementary students will also be selling their work at the Art & Craft Fair, and for the kids in attendance, there will be handmade toys and games for sale as well as homemade pretzels, candy and cotton candy.

“The one-day extravaganza features a carefully curated group of local artists showcasing something for everyone,” said the River Grove PTO by email.

River Grove Elementary students have spent the past two years at the Uplands campus while the replacement River Grove Elementary building was completed. Construction on the new building is almost finished and is slated to open for the new school year in the fall.
