AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- New video released Thursday shows the moments leading up to and immediately after a deadly crash involving a school bus and a concrete truck in Bastrop County last week.

The video shows the Hays CISD school bus traveling westbound on State Highway 21 just before 2 p.m. last Friday, March 22. As the concrete truck approaches in the eastbound lanes, it veers across the double yellow line, striking the bus and causing it to roll over.

The entire crash happened in about 10 seconds - a crash that claimed the lives of 5-year old Ulises Rodriguez Montoya and 33-year old Ryan Wallace, a doctoral student at the University of Texas. A total of 44 Pre-K students from Tom Green Elementary and 11 adults were on board the bus; Wallace was in a vehicle driving behind the bus.

According to a search warrant obtained Thursday, the driver of the concrete truck, identified as 42-year old Jerry Hernandez, was transported to St. David's South Austin for medical treatment following the crash. He told a DPS trooper that he had smoked marijuana "at approximately 10 p.m." the night before the crash, slept for about three hours, and then got up for work around 12:30 a.m. Hernandez, according to the warrant, also admitted to "consuming cocaine" around 1 a.m. the morning of the crash.

Investigators were unable to secure a voluntary sample of Hernandez's blood, according to the warrant.

No charges have been filed in the crash.
