Pick-Up 2 Clean-Up unites organizations to collect litter in downtown Iowa City

The public is invited to help local groups combat litter and enhance the cleanliness in the downtown Iowa City neighborhood on Sunday, April 14, from 9 to 11 a.m. Volunteer assistance from the public is welcome for any amount of time. Volunteers will meet at the Chauncey Swan Park at the corner of Gilbert and Washington Streets. MidAmerican Energy is providing trash bags and gloves. Partners participating in clean-up efforts include the City of Iowa City, Iowa City Downtown District, the Iowa City Litter Crew, Johnson County Master Gardeners, MidAmerican Energy, and Project GREEN. Should the inclement weather become an issue, the activity will be rescheduled to later in the month. Watch social media for updates.
