The Tulip Festival is Nearly In Bloom

    2024-03-30

Once a year over a million people visit the biggest tulip festival in the country, and the time is once again upon us. The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival officially begins on April 1st and runs through the end of the month. It sometimes runs longer, depending on whether or not the flowers are still blooming.

Because tulip blooms aren’t predictable – it all depends on the weather – you can check on the bloom status online. As of the end of March, it’s early color. The flowers are starting to show and it’s a good time to avoid the crowds that appear for full bloom.

You’ll need a car to get around the fields and gardens, and the gardens charge an admittance fee. If you don’t want to pay, you can still view several tulip and daffodil fields. The daffodils are already up – they bloom earlier than the tulips.

Check out the online festival brochure for a map of locations.

take the Conway Exit 221. There are no fields of flowers in downtown Burlington or Mt Vernon, but there is a huge traffic problem due to where people are asked to exit.
