    Brighton's Millie lift.

Following last season's record-breaking snowfall, many resorts in the Wasatch extended their season closures and offered spring specials. My personal favorite of those was Brighton's Millie Meltdown. Following the closure of the resort, the Millie lift was left open for some late season laps at really cheap prices. I spent a lovely, bluebird sky day ripping groomers in a t-shirt as part of the Meltdown series... it was awesome. And Brighton just announced that it's bringing the Meltdown series back!

Located up Big Cottonwood Canyon, Brighton Resort will be closing for the season on April 28th. But from May 3-19 they will be reopen one of their lifts (TBD) for the Meltdown series. During this time, tickets will likely be cheap, vibes will be high, and the weather will (most likely) make for some really fun, warm spring skiing. And the Meltdown lasts for two weeks! For the dedicated skier that could be as much as 14 days of extra skiing on the season.

Other resorts have also begun to announce closing days and most will be closed by May 1st. So having the option of lift-served access at Brighton through the month of May is pretty huge. Stay tuned for more information on where the Meltdown will be this year.
