At the end of last week, Powder Mountain announced that they are expanding their advanced terrain by creating lift-served access into Wolf Canyon. Located in Eden, UT, Powder Mountain is already a pretty big mountain and has received a lot of attention of late after Netflix co-founder and CEO Reed Hastings became a majority owner of the mountain in September 2023.

Powder Mountain has already announced changes to its pass pricing system for the upcoming season, is publicly committed to remaining uncrowded, and now is expanding its terrain offerings. This is what Powder Mountain announced on Instagram about the new advanced terrain offerings: "We’re excited to announce two major expansions of new terrain. Powder Mountain will be expanding public lift-served access into Wolf Canyon, including DMI and some of the best expert and advanced terrain in Northern Utah. For our homeowner community, we have contracted to buy the adjacent Davenport area on the back side of Raintree marked for development and private lift access.

"Guided adventure experiences are slated for winter, with a target of Summer 2025 for lift installation. Surveying and planning will begin this summer, with the announcement of construction timelines and exact routing of lift infrastructure to follow.

" These acquisitions, alongside our decisions to not accept megapasses and limit day ticket sales, help to fulfill our promise of keeping Powder Mountain uncrowded, independent, and a truly special experience for generations to come.

" Follow the link in our bio to read a letter from CEO Reed Hastings about the state of Powder, more details on the expansion, and exciting plans for the future."

I'm curious to follow this expansion and to get some turns in on the new terrain when it opens!
