MARINETTE — Over 20,000 are without power in Marinette and Menominee counties, with Wisconsin Public Service still determining restoration times and bringing in extra help to restore electricity, according to a spokesperson.

“We are seeing substantial damage caused by strong winds and heavy snow, including numerous broken utility poles, downed power lines and trees falling onto our electric equipment,” said Brendan Conway, director of media relations from WEC Energy Group.

He said the crews have been working non-stop since Tuesday night’s storm.

“Crews also are facing slick and snowy road conditions as they travel to restore power. We appreciate our customers understanding as our crews work safely in these difficult conditions,” Conway said.

At 2:19 p.m., the outage map on the Wisconsin Public Service website listed 16,747 customers in Marinette County without power and 6,472 in Menominee County without power.

He directed people to report outages on the outage map online or through the Wisconsin Public Service app. He said they will put any updates on restoration times on the online map as soon as they are available.

He also encouraged people to sign up for outage alerts for the latest information.

“We have restored power to tens of thousands of customers,” Conway said.

People can report an outage here: https://www.wisconsinpublicservice.com/OutageManagement/Status/CurrentOutage.
