    Garfield Heights alum Meechie Johnson returning to Ohio State

    COLUMBUS, OH- Meechie Johnson has announced via social media that he will officially be returning to the Ohio State University basketball program after leaving just two seasons ago and after having a ton of success with the South Carolina Gamecocks.

    Johnson finished this current year at South Carolina starting in 62 games over 2 seasons for the seasoned guard out of Garfield Heights High School, his previous 2 seasons where at Ohio State where he played in 43 games starting 5 under then coach Chris Holtmann, a far cry from his playing time in Columbia.

    "I'm coming back to the Ohio State University not just to come home, but to be a leader both on the court and in the community, in my hometown and state," said Johnson in his announcement.

    With Ohio State hiring Chris Holtmann predecessor Jake Deibler, it seems his presence is a sure sign that good things are coming to a not so long ago top program in the Big Ten, "I know what this team can be, and is going to be and I want to be a part of that, I want to be apart of something special," Johnson continued to say in his announcement.

    Meechie Johnson will be using his last year of his college eligibility on his return to the Buckeye state, that's major news for his Cleveland community and Buckeye Nation.
