Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Do-Over Gets Hot Toys Figure
By Luke Y. Thompson,
2024-04-05
It’s okay to like Hayden Christensen ‘s Anakin Skywalker now! Twenty-plus years since his first appearance in the Star Wars prequels got roasted by critics and fans, a generation of kids who grew up on the Canadian actor rejoiced to see him back in the role on Ahsoka .
It certainly didn’t hurt that in the interim, voice actor M att L anter portrayed more layers in the character on his multiple animated adventures. Yet when Ahsoka Tano entered the World Between Worlds, the Clone Wars version of Anakin she encountered was Christensen, who barely looked like he’d aged a day in two decades.
A Long Vader Go
Hot Toys never misses an option to make a variant of a major character, and with Christensen finally giving a performance in the role that people really liked, this has a chance to be their most popular prequel-era Anakin yet. He comes in his tailored Jedi general outfit as previously designed for the cartoons, detailed hair sculpture, rolling eyeball articulation, and a display base featuring — Whoops! — sand. Somebody didn’t get the memo about his feelings on that.
Other accessories include a USB powered light-up lightsaber with static and “motion-blur” blades, blaster deflection effects to attach to the blades, and a holo-projector with hologram simulations of young Ahsoka, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Captain Rex.
Preorder Anakin for $265, because unlike sand, he won’t get everywhere. Expect delivery sometime in the first half of 2025. Especially if you already bought the Ariana Greenblatt Young Ahsoka, you need this Anakin to boss her around and look exasperated. Rolling eyeballs are a great feature when you want your Star Wars toys to give side-eye. As usual, payment plans are available just in case you’re side-eyeing the price tag on the Skyguy.
Still unsure? Look through the bevy of images provided by Hot Toys, below. Then trust your feelings.
