WACO, Texas ( FOX 44 ) — The Bears entered Sunday with the goal of potentially recording their longest win streak of the Mitch Thompson era with a series sweep over Incarnate Word.

However, Baylor failed to show up after back-to-back quality outings, resulting in a 14-1 loss to the Cardinals on Sunday afternoon.

The Bears bats that had remained hot through the weekend cooled off on Sunday with Incarnate Word only allowing six hits and Baylor’s only offense coming from a solo home run from Zach Mazoch in the sixth inning.

Former Baylor Bear Cam Caley put the icing on the cake to seal the win with a two-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to clinch it for the Cardinals.

Baylor looks to begin a new win streak starting with a midweek contest down south against Houston Christian on Tuesday, April 9th at 6:30 p.m.
